I'll Always Be Here...

Nicki had been waiting on SB for an hour and a half and was getting pissed by the minute. There was a knock on the door. Nicki knew it was Safaree but why didn't he just use his key. This annoyed her more, she took her time walking down the stairs. She opened the door and Safaree walked in with a lot of bags.

"Where have you been i'm starving?" Nicki asked trying to see what where in the bags.

"Just close the door and come on butterball." Nicki frowned and went back to close the door. SB went into the living room and put the bags down. He sat her bag of IHOP down on the table. She grabbed it up an dug in.

"SB what is all this, more books?" She asked with a mouth full of pancakes staring at the Band Noble bag.

"No, i just got you some magazines from there, oh i did get a book called Baby Minds: Brain-Building Games you Baby Will Love." he handed the bag to Nicki.

"Then what is the rest of this stuff?"

"I had to pick up some stuff for me."

"You get anything for US?" Nicki said rubbing her stomach and smiling. SB looked at her blankly.

"Don't be using my babies already to get shit. And look in that bag over there." he said pointing behind her. She looked.

"Safaree that's a hardware bag. You not crazy." She looked at him but he was doing something on his phone. She grabbed the bag and looked in it and saw a Tiffanys bag. She looked at him and cracked a smile. She pulled the bag out. "Why you put it inside of a diffrent bag SafarEE?" She said rolling her eyes.

"Well OniKA it's because every time you see me with a bunch of bags--" Buzz Buzz. He chuckled at the txt he got. She rolled her eyes. "You think you automatically got something coming your way." he said never looking up.

"Well I do as you can see." She said showing holding her bag. She pulled out the tissue paper and saw two boxes. She opened one and it was a necklace that had a Love pendant on it, the second was a coil ring with hearts on the end. "OMg Safaree I love them. He looked up and his face dropped.

"Wait Nicki those aren't yours." He said taking them from her and putting them back into the box carefully and putting them back in the bag. Nickis smile faded. He handed her another bag.

"Then who are they for Safaree?" Nicki said starting to catch an attitude. He looked at her.

"There for Melanie who else would they be for Nicki." he said saying it like she should know. Nicki looked shocked.

"I thought she left you. What were her words "I don't DO baby mamas" yeah those were it." Nicki said doing air quotes.

"Well I talk to her and apologized for keeping the babies a secrete from her. Then I put some of my Safaree charm on her and everything was good." He said cheesing. Nicki was pissed. She thought they were trying to build again and it seems like he just wasn't into it and it hurt her. She wanted to show him that she wasn't scared any more. She was ready to love him. He saw her expression and her chest rising and falling really fast.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"Nothing." She said turning and storming away. He ran behind her and caught her by the arm. "Get off me Safaree."

"Not till you tell me what's wrong." he said turning her around and seeing the tears welling in her eyes.

"I said I'm fine Safaree." She said wiping the tears away. He looked at her like she was stupid. She looked away. "I thought we were working on us? I thought we were trying to build US back to were we were." she said.

"Nic--"

"I thought you--" her voice cracked. "I thought you wanted me again. But I guess that's me just being to hopeful." she trying to pull away from him but he wouldn't let go.

"Nicki I am trying to build with you, you know that."

"Are you Safaree? Remember how you use to take me on random cute little dates? You don't do that any more. Your doing all that for HER. Someone who you don't even see as a girlfriend SB." she said wiping her face.

"Nicki i'm trying. But I told--"

"Yeah Yeah, your not giving her up because she wants to love you I heard that bullshit." She said waving him off.

"Stop cutting me off Nicki."

"NO! You buying this bitch gifts and shit like she your girlfriend and you didn't tell her you got some other girl pregnant. No shes a friend, you don't owe that bitch no explanation."

"You acting as if I didn't do the same thing when I fucked up with you when we were JUST friends."

"So you your comparing OUR friendship to yalls? You barely know her."

"That's not what i'm doing but you know how I am when I've done something wrong. So don't go acting brand new." Both went back and forth yelling at each other. Nicki calling Melanie all types of bitches. And Safaree telling her she is overreacting.

"SAFAREE JUST GO! You don't have to worry about me asking you for your affection EVER fucking again. I see were you wanna be at now." Nicki said trying to calm herself down.

"NICKI JUST LISTEN. You know your the only woman I have EVER loved that wasn't family. I've wanted you since we were teenagers. When you left me I put up a wall and it's not going to be that easy to just let it down again." Nicki had crossed her arms and was looking at the wall. "Do you hear me?" He said turning her face to him. Nicki didn't feel like arguing with him she was drained emotionally and physically.

"Safaree do what you want. Just know that my feelings have evolved since Jamaica and I want the chance to love you as well. I'm going upstairs to lay down let yourself out." he was still holding on to her.

"Are you still mad at me?" he asked wrapping his arms around her.

"Yes." she said.

"Why Nic?" he said nestling his face into her neck. She sighed.

"I want you to myself Safaree. I don't want some other girl getting to your heart before i have the chance to get it back. You know i'm territorial, and I see you as mine. Do you hear me?"

"Yes I hear you. And I will try harder to build with you again." He said kissing her on the cheek and pulling away to look at her. She leaned in and kissed him on his lips. It wasn't deep but it got her point across. She pulled back and licked her lips.

"I've missed that. I'm sorry."

"No don't apologize, it's okay." he said.

"I love you best friend." she said.

"I love you too. I'm going to go clean up the living room and then I'm going into the study for awhile. Is that okay?" Safaree asked. Nicki nodded. She wanted him to be here all the time but she took what she could get. She slept better knowing he was in the house. He kissed her belly and she went to her room and laid down.

Later on in the Study.

Buzz Buzz. Safaree looked up from his book and looked at his cell phone. He put the highlighter down and picked up his phone.

"Hello."

"Safaree where are you?" Melanie questioned.

"I'm over at Nickis why what's up?"

"Your always over there. You don't ever spend time with me." she whined. Safaree sighed.

"Listen I don't need this from you right now. And I do spend time with you so stop the dramatics okay. Besides we are not dating we are just friends."

"Safaree "friends" don't do the things we have done." He ran his hand over his face. "Does she do the things I do for you?" Melanie asked in a seductive voice.

"Melanie stop it okay. That was like two months ago." he said getting angry. He regretted what they had done months back.

"Okay okay but can I see you today please?"

"Yeah i'll be there in a hour." he hung up the phone and rested his head in his hands. This was not him, he was never one too have two have multiple women in his life. It was beginning to be draining for him. He walked over to Nickis bedroom and rested against the door frame and watched her sleep. She was beautiful when she wasn't biting his head off he thought.

When Nicki woke up she was greeted with a note.

to share with Safaree L. Samules.

Nicki smiled at the note and giggled. She figured Safaree had left so she called him on his phone.

"Hello."

"Hello Mr. Samules." Nicki said. He smiled.

"I see you got the note I left for you." Nicki heard a door slam in his background.

"Yes I did sir. And I would love to accompany you to dinner on Tuesday." she said.

"Thank you ma'am. Can you wear my favorite color please?" he said.

"Hmmm do you deserve for me to wear your favorite?" she giggled into the phone.

"You gonna do me like that butterball?" he asked.

"No I'll wear it for you Faree." she said in a cutesy voice.

"Thank you. What are you doing?"

"Nothing laying in the bed. I'm hungry so i'm going to go find something to eat in the kitchen. You?"

"Over Melanies." he said hesitant. Nicki rolled her eyes.

"Mmmmhhmm." was all she said.

"Don't be like that." 

"I'm fine SB. Why didn't you tell me you were leaving?" she asked switching subjects.

"You were snoring so i figured you were sleeping good and I didn't want to disturb you. I kissed my babies before I left and told them I would be back." he said. 

"Oh I couldn't get a kiss?" she said playfully acting mad.

"Who said I didn't kiss you?" he said licking his lips smiling. Nicki giggled.

"Oh so you was free feeling on me in my sleep you perv?"

"See why you gotta take it there? No I wasn't."

"I'm just playing. Well I won't keep you from little Ms. Melanie so I'm going to get off of here." she said.

"You a trip, do you need me to bring you anything?" he asked.

"No, but i would like to see you again today if that's not to much to ask of you sir, don't want to get you in trouble with Ms. Melanie." Nicki said.

"Shut up butterball. And yes I can do that for you."

"Why do you call me that?" Nicki asked.

"You stomach looks like a butterball turkey." he said.

"That's not funny. I'm not that big am I?" she got up and looked at herself in her full length mirror, switching from side to side.

"Well I wouldn't want to lie to my best friend so yeah your getting big but it's expected your having triplets. But you are still as beautiful as ever." she stopped and smiled.

"Thanks Safaree. Well I guess i'll see you later tonight. Use your key this time." she said.

"Okay I will. Bye."

"Bye." she hung up and kept looking at herself in the mirror. She looked at her dresser through the mirrior and saw her Tiffanys bag sitting on it. She walked over and went through the bag and found the box. She opened the box and saw an a necklace with a diamond Infinity piece hanging from it she turned it over and it read: You Will Always Be My Number One Girl. Nicki got teary eyed. She put it on and went downstairs to feed her and the babies. Safaree heard a door open he looked back at a pissed off Melanie.

"Why is she wearing your favorite color Safaree?" She asked walking toward him.

"It does't concern you just like when i'm with you it's none of her business so chill out." Safaree said un-muting the television to watch the rest of his game.

"I don't like it when you answer the phone for her when we are together it's rude." she said sitting next to him  on the couch.

"Melanie you can stop all that bullshit right now. That's the woman who is carrying my children I will ALWAYS answer the phone for her." he said sternly. She just sat there with her arms crossed staring off.

"I get that Safaree. Just forget it." Melanie said. Safaree had had enough attitude for one day. He snatched up his jacket and stormed out the door. He got in his car and peeled off headed towards Nickis house. On his way there he pulled into a CVS and bought two pints of ice cream. Cookies & Cream for Nicki and Butter Pecan for him. When he pulled up he saw lights on downstairs. He locked up his car and let himself into the house. He smelled shrimp when he walked in the house. He walked into the kitchen to see Nicki placing a good helping on her plate she looked up and smiled.

"Hey you." she said.

"What you cook?" he said walking up to the pot.

"Dang fatty can I get a hello it's nice to see you again too before you raid my pot you jerk?" Nicki said clamping the top over pot.

"Hello Nicki It's to see you again." she laughed at him and his seriousness.

"Get your plate."

"What is it?"

"Does it matter, you gonna eat it no matter what I say."

"You right." he handed her the plate and she put some shrimp scampi on his plate and a piece of garlic bread. "I got you some ice cream." he said holding it up for her to see before he put it in the freezer.

"Thank you." They sat down at the table to eat. They discussed various things over dinner from the weather to what they thought the sex of the babies were going to be. When they finished Safaree cleaned up the kitchen and put the rest of the food away. Nicki was upstairs getting ready for bed. When he was done he went up stairs to check on her. She was in the bed putting lotion on all she had on was her bra and some shorts. He stared at her belly.

"Your skins all glowy." he said.

"It is?" she said looking at her body.

"Yeah."

"Humph. If you say so. Come sit." she said. He took off his shoes and laid in the bed next to her while she finished.

"I see you like your necklace." he said pointing at her neck.

"Yes I love it. Thank you Faree and i'm sorry for this morning I overreacted." she said.

"No you were getting your feelings out so don't apologize. Just know that i will always be here" he said. She nodded her head.

Once she got done she got under the covers. "Cuddle with me until i go to sleep Faree." She turned her back to him and he wrapped one arm around her and placed his hand on her Stomach. She hummed a tune and in minutes both were passed out. About two hours later Safaree woke up and kissed Nicki on her cheek and belly and left to go home.
